THE TA'HOOTS TEAM
Jon and James have know each other for over 10 years and originally discussed starting a mobile bar business together back in 2018-19. Ta’Hoots came about after various discussions about our desire to start a business venture outside of our normal daily working lives in an area of business that would offer us both a new direction and a totally different challenge from anything we had done before.
Everything came together 2022 when we were asked to co-organise and attend an event in celebration of the Queens platinum jubilee over in Metheringham, Lincolnshire. It was a 2 day event, which served to bring together the residents of Metheringham and surrounding villages and was attended by over 4000 people over a full weekend. We provided and ran a fully licenced bar along with sourcing a sound stage and providing a band and DJ’s for for the event, one of which was James’s colleague and friend Jeff Hordley, who plays Cain Dingle on Emmerdale.
We are aiming for the sky and moving the business forward in multiple directions. We are looking to attend festivals, weddings, village fetes and charity events, along with building our brand and selling branded products and also creating our own bespoke events.

James
Hi, I’m James Hooton and I’m one of the founders and directors of Ta’Hoots.
I’m probably best known as an actor. I’ve been working professionally in TV, film and theatre since I was 13 and I have over 35 years of experience in the industry.
I’ve worked at Emmerdale for over 25 of those years playing the role of Sam Dingle which I still enjoy doing and which takes up the majority of my professional working time.
Outside of my day job I enjoy climbing and football, I play for a Bradford based charity team called Supporting Charities Football Club and I climb at least a couple of times a week, mainly at indoor walls in and around Leeds.
I’ve known Jon for over 10 years and we originally discussed starting a mobile bar business together back in 2018-19.
